Gen.G vs Dplus KIA Preview
The series attracted huge attention before it even began.
Gen.G entered the match under heavy pressure. The team had just lost to T1, and another defeat would raise even more questions about their current form. Therefore, Chovy, Canyon, and Ruler needed a strong performance in front of their home fans.
In contrast, Dplus KIA arrived full of confidence. The team had recently won the Esports World Cup and continued to build momentum with several impressive victories. Every player looked comfortable, and DK entered the match as one of the hottest teams in the league.
Naturally, fans focused on two exciting matchups. ShowMaker faced Chovy in the mid lane. Meanwhile, Lucid challenged Canyon in the jungle. Both duels lived up to expectations. However, DK ultimately proved stronger across the Rift.

Lucid Gives DK the Perfect Start
Gen.G surprised everyone by selecting the new champion Locke for Chovy. The pick immediately became the biggest story of the draft. Even so, DK never looked uncomfortable.
Only a few minutes into the game, Lucid made the first move. He ganked the top lane with Lee Sin and worked together with Siwoo’s Olaf to eliminate Kiin’s Gnar. That play secured First Blood and gave DK an early lead.
Soon afterward, Chovy reminded everyone why he is one of the world’s best mid laners. He found a great angle around the dragon pit and collected a double kill with Locke. As a result, Gen.G stayed within reach during the early game.
However, DK quickly regained control.
DK Control Every Major Objective
Lucid continued to dictate the pace of the match. He secured dragons, pressured side lanes, and constantly denied Canyon opportunities to fight back.
Meanwhile, ShowMaker’s Cassiopeia dealt huge damage in every skirmish. At the same time, Career’s Camille repeatedly found strong flanks and locked down key targets. Smash also played safely on Corki while scaling into the late game.
Because DK controlled vision around every objective, Gen.G struggled to find favorable fights.
Later, DK secured the Ocean Soul and extended their gold lead. Shortly after, they won another decisive teamfight near Baron. With every lane pushing forward, DK marched into Gen.G’s base and destroyed the Nexus to take Game 1.

Game 2: Smash and Career Take Over the Bottom Lane
Draft
Gen.G
- Top: Rumble (Kiin)
- Jungle: Jarvan IV (Canyon)
- Mid: Yone (Chovy)
- ADC: Lucian (Ruler)
- Support: Milio (Duro)
Dplus KIA

- Jungle: Xin Zhao (Lucid)
- Mid: Viktor (ShowMaker)
- ADC: Caitlyn (Smash)
- Support: Bard (Career)

DK Dominate the Laning Phase
Unlike Game 1, DK focused on the bottom lane from the very beginning.
Smash’s Caitlyn and Career’s Bard immediately gained lane priority. They constantly pushed Lucian and Milio under their tower. Consequently, Ruler lost valuable farm and struggled to contest the wave.
A few minutes later, Smash secured First Blood. He also collected several turret plates. Therefore, Caitlyn built a gold lead of more than 2,000 before the ten-minute mark.
At the same time, ShowMaker quietly farmed on Viktor and prepared for the later stages of the game. Lucid also punished Canyon whenever Jarvan IV tried to start a fight.
Career’s Bard Changes the Game
Career became one of the biggest heroes of Game 2.
His Tempered Fate ultimates repeatedly stopped Gen.G’s engages. Every time Canyon or Chovy tried to force a teamfight, Bard’s ultimate completely disrupted the play. Consequently, DK won every important objective fight.
After securing Baron Nashor, DK grouped together for the final push. Gen.G failed to defend their base against the overwhelming pressure.
A few moments later, DK destroyed the Nexus and completed a convincing 2-0 sweep.

Player of the Match: Lucid
Lucid deserved the Player of the Match award after another outstanding performance.
His Lee Sin completely controlled the early game in Game 1. Then, his Xin Zhao dominated every major fight in Game 2.
Throughout the series, Lucid consistently outplayed Canyon. He controlled neutral objectives, created early advantages, and coordinated perfectly with every lane. In addition, his decision-making remained excellent from the first minute until the final teamfight.
Without question, Lucid became the driving force behind DK’s victory.

Key Performers
ShowMaker Delivers Another Masterclass
ShowMaker played two very different champions, yet he looked equally comfortable on both.
His Cassiopeia punished Gen.G throughout Game 1 with consistent damage. Later, Viktor became the centerpiece of DK’s late-game teamfighting. Thanks to his positioning and decision-making, DK never lost control of either game.
Smash and Career Win the Bottom Lane
DK’s bottom lane also played a huge role in the victory.
Career’s Camille constantly created pressure during Game 1 through aggressive engages and timely roams. Then, in Game 2, his Bard ultimates completely shut down Gen.G’s initiations.
Meanwhile, Smash played two excellent games on Corki and Caitlyn. He dealt reliable damage in every fight and maintained strong positioning throughout the series.
Together, they outperformed Ruler and Duro from start to finish.
What Went Wrong for Gen.G?
Gen.G showed flashes of brilliance, but they struggled to maintain momentum.
Although Chovy demonstrated the potential of the new champion Locke, DK quickly adapted after the early skirmishes. Meanwhile, Canyon could not match Lucid’s influence around the map.
The team also lost control of neutral objectives too often. As the games progressed, DK steadily increased their lead and never allowed Gen.G to recover.
If Gen.G want to compete for the LCK championship, they will need better coordination and cleaner macro play in the coming weeks.
Final Thoughts
The Gen.G vs Dplus KIA series showed exactly why DK are considered one of the strongest teams in the LCK.
They won every stage of the game. Their drafts were well prepared. Their objective control remained excellent. Most importantly, every player fulfilled their role with confidence.
Lucid earned a well-deserved POM award after controlling the jungle in both games. ShowMaker once again demonstrated world-class consistency in the mid lane. At the same time, Smash and Career dominated the bottom lane and provided the foundation for DK’s victory.
With another impressive 2-0 win, Dplus KIA continue their incredible run in LCK 2026 Split 3. If they maintain this level of performance, they will remain one of the leading contenders for both the domestic title and future international tournaments.
