Unique Traits in TFT Set 18
One of the biggest features of Set 18 is the new Unique Traits. Each one belongs to a specific champion and offers a special effect.

Adaptor
Adaptor champions use either Ability Power or Attack Damage, depending on which stat is higher.
Because of this, they can use both AD and AP items effectively. Therefore, players have much more flexibility when building them.

Apex Predator
The Ancient Dragon takes up two board slots.
However, it gives +2 Riftbeast Trait counts. As a result, it becomes a powerful choice for Riftbeast team compositions.
Attuned
Alune changes her moon phase after every spell.
When the moon is smaller, your team gains extra durability. On the other hand, when the moon is larger, your team deals more damage.
Therefore, Alune can support both defensive and offensive playstyles.
Avatar
Avatar is one of the most interesting mechanics in Set 18.
After you own an Avatar champion, every Avatar in your shop changes into the same Trait and Class. In addition, that Trait counts as two units.
Because of this, reaching important Trait breakpoints becomes much easier.

Bounty Seeker
Draven accepts bounty missions during the game.
Each completed mission unlocks a new reward. Then, another mission becomes available.
As a result, this Trait rewards players who can secure kills consistently.
Other Unique Traits
Several other Unique Traits have also been revealed.
- Caustic applies both Shred and Sunder.
- Eclipse executes the lowest-health enemy.
- Emerald Aspect lets Taric empower a linked ally.
- Greenfather allows Ivern to plant magical seeds.
- Monolith grants Armor and Magic Resist when enemies focus the unit.
- Old Growth permanently increases maximum Health.
- Thornmaiden boosts durability while Zyra’s plants remain alive.
Together, these mechanics make every champion feel different. Therefore, many of them could become key pieces in future meta compositions.

Standard Traits in TFT Set 18
Besides the Unique Traits, Set 18 also includes many regular Traits. However, most of them have been redesigned with new effects.
Blossom
Blossom is built around the new Wisp mechanic. As you reach higher breakpoints, your Wisps become stronger. You will also find them more often.
In addition, buying Wisps gives bonus gold. Later, you can buy more than one Wisp each round.
At the highest breakpoint, every Wisp reaches its full power. Because of this, Blossom may become a key Trait in Set 18.
Elderwood
Elderwood brings magical forest plants back to TFT.
Depending on your breakpoint, you receive:
- Stonebark
- Lifebloom
- Deepwood Protector
Furthermore, these plants become stronger as your Elderwood champions gain more stars.
Coven
Coven uses a simple economy system. You collect Essence by defeating enemies. You also earn more Essence after losing player fights.
Then, you decide what to do. You can spend your Essence right away. Or, you can save it for bigger rewards. Because of this, every choice matters.

Eldritch
Eldritch uses a sacrifice mechanic.
At the start of combat, one ally is sacrificed to strengthen your team.
However, once you reach six Eldritch units, that ally survives while still granting the bonus.
Because of this, the Trait becomes much stronger during the late game.

Fae
Fae summons magical Pixies during combat.
Each Pixie grants:
- Attack Damage
- Ability Power
- Healing
Moreover, after collecting enough Pixies, Golden Pixies begin to appear. These provide bonus gold instead.
As a result, Fae offers both combat power and extra economy.
Inferno
Inferno focuses on burn damage.
Champions:
- Burn enemies.
- Apply Grievous Wounds.
- Upgrade shop slots into higher-cost champions.
Therefore, Inferno could become a strong reroll Trait.
Riftbeast
Riftbeast is one of the most exciting Traits in Set 18. Each breakpoint unlocks a new bonus.
First, you gain Alpha Sigil buffs. Next, Riftbeast champions appear more often in your shop. Then, they grow stronger during combat. Finally, the last breakpoint gives you an extra team slot.
Because of these rewards, Riftbeast should scale very well. It could become one of the strongest late-game Traits.
Returning Classes
Several familiar Classes also return in Set 18. However, each one has updated effects.
These include:
- Brawler – Grants bonus Health.
- Defender – Increases Armor and Magic Resist.
- Executioner – Improves critical strikes and spell crits.
- Hunter – Gains Attack Damage and bonus damage over time.
- Invoker – Restores Mana.
- Juggernaut – Provides extra durability.
- Lunar – Increases Attack Speed and Ability Power.
- Rapidfire – Builds Attack Speed with every attack.
- Ravager – Grants Omnivamp and bonus damage to low-health enemies.
- Spellweaver – Gives Ability Power and gains more after casting spells.
- Summoner – Strengthens summoned units.
- Vanguard – Creates large shields during combat.
Together, these Classes provide many different team-building options.

Solar and Sprykin Could Shape the Meta
Solar rewards players who build three-star champions. The highest breakpoint is very powerful. Your three-star units become four-star units during combat. Sprykin works in a different way. It gives your team a giant companion called the BFF. One Sprykin champion rides the BFF.
Its skills change with the rider. A melee rider gives one effect. A ranged rider gives another. Because of this, players can build many different team comps.
TFT Set 18 Looks More Diverse Than Ever
Based on everything Riot has revealed, TFT Set 18 focuses on gameplay variety. Instead of relying on only new champions, Riot has added many fresh mechanics. Wisps, Avatar, Solar, Riftbeast, and Coven all encourage players to try different strategies.
At the same time, every Trait feels unique. Therefore, players should have more meaningful choices in every match.
However, Riot has confirmed that Set 18 is still in development. Because of that, many Traits, Classes, champion abilities, and numbers may change before release.
Even so, the current preview already looks promising. If Riot keeps these ideas, TFT Set 18: Enchanted Wilds could become one of the most creative and enjoyable Teamfight Tactics sets yet.
