Kha Y Tran Gen.G secured a huge win in the LCK 2026 Playoffs. They defeated KT Rolster 3-0 in the upper bracket.
The result was important for more than one reason. First, Gen.G officially secured a spot at Worlds 2026. At the same time, the result also sent T1 to the tournament.
Therefore, one series confirmed two LCK teams for Worlds. Gen.G will now continue their run for the LCK title. Meanwhile, T1 can prepare for another World Championship campaign.

Gen.G Enter the Playoffs as a Leading Contender
Gen.G entered the LCK 2026 Playoffs in great form. They finished the regular season at the top of the standings.

Before the match, T1 had two possible routes to officially qualify for the World Championship.
First, Faker and his teammates could secure their place by winning another series in the LCK Playoffs. Alternatively, they would also qualify if Gen.G defeated KT Rolster.
In the end, the second scenario happened.

Although Gen.G’s victory ultimately confirmed T1’s qualification, Faker and his teammates had already done important work to put themselves in that position.
Earlier in the playoffs, T1 faced BNK FEARX in a dramatic best-of-five series.
Things did not go according to plan at first. In fact, the defending world champions fell behind 2-1 and found themselves one game away from defeat.
However, T1 once again showed their experience under pressure.

Hanwha Life Esports became the first LCK team to qualify. Their Mid-Season Invitational 2026 championship, combined with meeting the required domestic performance conditions, secured their place at Worlds.
Gen.G then joined them after sweeping KT 3-0.
At the same time, that result also confirmed T1’s qualification.
Therefore, three of the LCK’s Worlds representatives are now known.
