Haaland Double Secures Norway’s World Cup Progress

Erling Haaland delivered again for Norway. He scored two goals as Norway beat Senegal 3-2 in Group I of the FIFA World Cup 2026. Therefore, Norway earned three huge points and secured an early place in the knockout stage.

Norway Start Fast

Norway began the match with clear intent. They used their height and strength to attack Senegal early. In fact, they won four corners in just over three minutes. Kristoffer Ajer also came close with a strong header.

However, Senegal did not sit back. They pushed forward and tried to answer with speed. As a result, the match quickly became open and exciting.

Senegal kept fighting until the end. They pushed more players forward and forced Norway to defend deep.

Finally, in the 90+3rd minute, Sarr scored his second goal of the match. It made the score 3-2 and gave Senegal late hope.

However, there was not enough time left. Norway stayed calm and protected their lead until the final whistle.

With this 3-2 win, Norway moved to six points after two matches. As a result, they booked their place in the World Cup 2026 knockout stage with one game to spare.
