Overview of the June 4 Update
The update is being released without server downtime. Therefore, players can update the game whenever they want. At the same time, they can continue playing normally.
This patch focuses on two main goals:
- Hero balance changes.
- Bug fixes and gameplay improvements.
According to Garena, the goal is to create a fairer environment. In addition, the team wants more heroes to become viable choices.
Ishar Gets One of the Biggest Buffs
Ishar is one of the biggest winners in this patch. First, Skill 1 now slows enemies continuously. It also deals burst magic damage when the mushroom disappears. Meanwhile, her ultimate has gained a new knock-up effect. When Furball lands, nearby enemies are launched into the air. In addition, Furball’s enhanced attacks now reduce the cooldown of Ishar’s ultimate.
Because of these changes, Ishar should become much stronger in teamfights.

Kriknak Can Stay Healthier in the Jungle
Kriknak also received a useful buff. His Skill 2 healing against non-hero targets has increased from 25% to 50%.
As a result, he can clear jungle camps more safely. He can also recover health faster between fights. Therefore, Kriknak may become a popular assassin pick once again.

Thane Becomes Harder to Kill
Thane has received a major durability boost. His passive damage reduction has increased from 25% to 40%.
This change helps him survive longer in teamfights. Furthermore, it allows him to engage enemies with more confidence. As a result, Thane should perform better as a frontline support.

Kahlii and Tulen Receive Damage Improvements
Kahlii has struggled in the current meta. Therefore, Garena adjusted her skills to improve her damage output. Meanwhile, Tulen also received a buff. His Skill 1 now deals more damage, especially in the later stages of the game.
Because of these changes, both mages may see more play in ranked matches.

Zill and Baldum Get Quality-of-Life Updates
Zill did not receive direct damage buffs. However, his ultimate now feels more reliable. The landing position after using his ultimate has been optimized. Therefore, players can better predict where he will appear.
Baldum also received an interesting upgrade. His ultimate can now be activated a second time. This allows him to end the imprisonment effect early and follow up with a knock-up attack. As a result, Baldum can create more opportunities for his team.

Hayate Receives a Long-Awaited Nerf
Hayate has been one of the strongest marksmen in Arena of Valor. He has strong mobility, reliable damage, and excellent survivability. Because of that, Garena decided to reduce his power.
His Skill 1 now deals less base damage. In addition, its Attack Damage scaling has been lowered. Therefore, Hayate should be less dominant in future matches.

Sinestrea, Astrid, and Azzen’Ka Also Nerfed
Sinestrea has lost some of her burst damage potential. The damage ratio of Blood Shot has been reduced from 60% to 55%.
Meanwhile, Astrid’s enhanced attacks now deal less damage. As a result, her burst combos will be weaker.
Azzen’Ka has also been adjusted. His Skill 2 now deals less damage than before. Garena believes the hero was providing too much damage while also offering strong crowd control. Therefore, the change should make him more balanced.

Paine Receives a Mixed Adjustment
Paine received both a buff and a nerf. His ultimate cooldown is now shorter. Therefore, he can join more fights during a match.
However, the skill’s damage has been adjusted to keep the hero balanced. As a result, Paine should feel smoother to play without becoming too powerful.

New Meta Expected After the Update
The June 4 update affects heroes across several roles. Tanks, mages, assassins, supports, and marksmen all received changes. Because of this, the meta is expected to shift in the coming weeks.
Heroes such as Ishar, Kriknak, Kahlii, and Baldum could become more popular. Meanwhile, Hayate, Sinestrea, and Astrid may see lower pick rates.
Overall, this patch aims to increase hero diversity. Therefore, players should learn the new balance changes early and adapt quickly to stay ahead in ranked play.
