HLE Outclass T1 in the BO5 Series
Across the entire T1 vs HLE series, HLE looked like the more consistent team. From the draft to their in-game decisions, the team repeatedly found effective ways to limit T1’s strengths.
More importantly, HLE did not need many surprise picks or unusual strategies. Instead, they relied on strong fundamentals. They controlled major objectives well and, at the same time, waited patiently for opportunities to punish T1.
On the other hand, T1 often created advantages during the early game but struggled to turn them into victories. Furthermore, several crucial teamfights became turning points in favor of HLE.
Game 1: HLE Complete a Comeback After Nearly 50 Minutes
The opening game between HLE and T1 was an extremely tense battle. T1 started aggressively and made several effective rotations. As a result, the red side built a noticeable advantage during the early stages.
However, HLE remained patient and continued looking for the right opportunity. The biggest turning point came during the contest for the seventh dragon. HLE executed the teamfight perfectly, selected their targets well, and completely broke apart the game that T1 had spent so much time building.
After winning the fight around the dragon pit, HLE quickly used their numbers advantage to push toward the final objective. Zeka and Gumayusi were the two standout players in the opening victory.
Notably, the loss also extended an unwanted statistic for T1. According to the provided source, T1 had lost all six games in which they used Lucian against HLE since the beginning of the season.
HLE lead T1 1-0.
Game 2: Gumayusi Shines as HLE Move to Match Point
In Game 2, T1 once again gained an early advantage. However, the same problem soon appeared. T1 could not control the pace of the mid game, while HLE only needed one successful teamfight to turn the game around.
From there, HLE continued applying pressure around major objectives and structures. At the same time, Zeus delivered an impressive performance in the solo lane. In particular, he created significant pressure and secured a direct kill against Peyz.
Once HLE opened up more space across the map, T1 found it increasingly difficult to launch a counterattack.
Gumayusi was once again the star of the game. The HLE ADC finished with an impressive 8/1/2 KDA and participated in 10 of his team’s 14 kills. Moreover, his positioning allowed him to stay safe while taking full advantage of the space created by his teammates.
Consequently, HLE secured another convincing win and moved one game away from the LCK Grand Final.
HLE lead T1 2-0.
Game 3: Peyz Keeps T1 Alive
With T1 facing the threat of a 0-3 sweep, the team desperately needed a response. Therefore, Game 3 became a crucial opportunity for the red squad to stay alive in the series.
The game was highly unpredictable, as both teams repeatedly traded advantages. HLE even came close to closing out the series after winning two consecutive teamfights. However, T1 refused to give up.
Instead of forcing unnecessary fights, T1 patiently waited for mistakes. Meanwhile, they extended the game and gave their main damage dealers more time to complete their items.
Peyz became T1’s biggest source of hope. As long as the ADC remained active on the map, T1 still had a chance to turn teamfights around.
Eventually, T1 found an important counterattack and completely changed the momentum of the game. As a result, they secured the victory and reduced the series score to 1-2.
The victory gave T1 fans hope for a potential reverse sweep. Nevertheless, HLE quickly showed that their Game 3 loss was only a temporary setback.
Game 4: Kanavi’s Cho’Gath Crushes T1’s Comeback Hopes
Game 4 was the decisive battle of T1 vs HLE. Both teams drafted compositions designed to scale into the late game.
T1 wanted to extend the game so their carries could complete their core items. However, that plan quickly ran into a major problem: Kanavi’s Cho’Gath.
Kanavi had a huge impact around major objectives thanks to his durability, crowd control, and ability to create pressure. Furthermore, once Cho’Gath accumulated enough strength, T1 struggled to break through HLE’s frontline.
During teamfights, Kanavi consistently found strong positions and created space for his teammates. Consequently, T1’s damage dealers had very little room to operate.
Unlike the previous three games, Game 4 was not a back-and-forth battle. HLE controlled the map with confidence and gave T1 almost no opportunity to create a comeback.
Once they built a large enough advantage, HLE launched their final attack and destroyed T1’s Nexus.
HLE defeated T1 3-1 and officially advanced to the LCK 2026 Grand Final.
Why Did HLE Beat T1?
HLE’s victory was not simply the result of one player’s performance. Instead, the team had multiple win conditions throughout the four games.
Zeka and Gumayusi made a strong impact from Game 1. Meanwhile, Zeus created important advantages in Game 2. Finally, Kanavi became the key factor in the decisive fourth game.
More importantly, HLE remained composed during the most important moments. They did not need complicated strategies or constant surprises. Instead, strong teamfighting, objective control, and disciplined execution allowed them to gradually suffocate T1.
T1, on the other hand, once again showed a familiar weakness: turning early advantages into victories.
The red squad had several strong moments throughout the series. However, a few mistakes during crucial teamfights were enough to completely change the outcome.
HLE Advance to the LCK 2026 Grand Final
With their 3-1 victory over T1, HLE continue their LCK 2026 journey and secure a place in the Grand Final against Gen.G.
This also marks the third consecutive season in which HLE have reached the LCK title match. Furthermore, the team has now defeated T1 in all three BO5 series between the two teams in the LCK, further proving that they are one of T1’s toughest opponents.
For T1, meanwhile, the loss means they will miss the LCK Grand Final for the second consecutive year. Although the team showed flashes of strong play, their inability to maintain advantages and handle decisive teamfights remained a major issue.
As a result, HLE now have an exciting rematch against Gen.G waiting in the LCK 2026 Grand Final. If they can maintain their current form, HLE have a strong opportunity to finish their impressive playoff run with the LCK championship title.
