The Gen.G vs Hanwha Life Esports series took place on September 5. It was one of the biggest matches of the LCK 2026 Playoffs. The winner would move straight into the Grand Final. Therefore, both teams had a lot at stake. Gen.G entered the match in great form. They had beaten KT Rolster 3-0 in their previous series.
Meanwhile, HLE had just completed a stunning comeback against T1. They fell behind 0-2 but won the next three games. As a result, HLE secured a dramatic 3-2 victory.
